MOORE PUBLIC ART PROGRAM Enjoy MOORE Art! Twice a year, the Arts Council of Moore County sends out a "call to local artists" to take part in the Arts Council's MOORE Public Art Program. The program includes partnerships with FirstHealth of the Carolinas as part of their Arts in Health Care at FirstHealth Program and with Moore County Social Services. The Arts Council invites local artists to submit up to two works for selection into this program to have their artwork displayed for six months in three FirstHealth facilities and one Moore County Social Services facility. See below for additional information on specific location information:

ARTS IN HEALTH CARE "Caring for people in an environment enhanced by the arts."
|
In 2002, the Arts Council of Moore County and FirstHealth of the Carolinas joined together to present a new public art portion of FirstHealth's Arts in Health Care Program. With the mission to "care for people in an environment enhanced by the arts", this partnership allows local artists to display and sell their work at FirstHealth's Center for Health & Fitness - Pinehurst (170 Memorial Dr.), Center for Health & Fitness - Southern Pines (130 Turner St.), and Outpatient Center for Rehabilitation (12 Aviemore Rd., Pinehurst). The artwork can be viewed during the facilities' normal office hours. All proceeds from the sale of any artwork supports the local artist and the Arts Council of Moore County's programs and services.

MOORE COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICES After seeing the local artwork displayed at the FirstHealth facilities, Moore County Social Services asked ACMC if they could have local artists display art in their new building off Hwy. 15/501 at 1036 Carriage Oak Dr. in Carthage. At the Social Services open house for their new building in 2003, the first pieces of artwork were hung and received a wonderful reception. The artwork at Social Services can be viewed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. All proceeds from the sale of any artwork supports the local artists and the Arts Council of Moore County's programs and services.
