 How to exhibit
your artwork at
CAMPBELL HOUSE GALLERIES

Campbell House Galleries is located on the 1st floor of the Campbell House at 482 East Connecticut Avenue in Southern Pines, NC and managed by the Arts Council of Moore County (ACMC). This historic home contains exhibit space with artwork offered for sale to the public. Listed below are several opportunities for artists to exhibit their work at Campbell House:
FEATURE ART EXHIBIT
ACMC hosts monthly art exhibits featuring some of the best artists from all over the Sandhills and beyond. Each feature art exhibit is ushered in with a festive reception on the first Friday of the month. Although the gallery is booked 2-3 years in advance, ACMC is always looking for new and exciting artists to showcase. If chosen to exhibit, the artist(s) or organization is responsible for the following:
- Delivery and removal of work to and from the gallery.
- Preparation of artwork for display including framing, special installation needs, pedestals, etc.
- Pricing of artwork - Most of the work in a feature art exhibit must be for sale, and art priced under $1,000 sells best in our galleries.
- Cost of the opening reception, normally provided by friends and family of the artist(s). ACMC can give some guidance on the reception in terms of what to provide, costs, and caterers.
 SALES GALLERY
ACMC's Sales Gallery (photo right) contains a wide variety of original art from local and regional artists and a representative selection of pottery from the Seagrove area. Because of limited space, each artist may display up to two (2) works, which must be for sale. We also ask that the art remain on display up to six months.
FINE ARTS FESTIVAL
The Fine Arts Festival began in 1980 with the goal of providing local artists with a place to showcase their art and an incentive to improve their artistic skills. Since then, the festival has grown into a major art exhibit featuring works by professional and amateur artists from all over the country. The festival is held every August, is open to any artist, and includes a competition with cash awards. Click here for information on the Fine Arts Festival.
To be considered for a Feature Art Exhibit and/or the Sales Gallery:
ARTIST/Artists Groups/Organizations should send a biography and/or resume, an exhibit proposal, and samples of art to be considered for exhibit (originals, slides, photos, & CDs accepted). Art samples should be clearly labeled with the title, medium, size, and date of completion. There is no application fee. Please include adequate postage for the return of materials. ACMC's commission on all art sales is 35% of the retail price. While the gallery accepts unsolicited exhibit applications on an ongoing basis, proposals are reviewed once a year by the ACMC's Visual Arts Committee. All proposals are given careful consideration for exhibition and selections are based on quality of art, diversity of exhibits, and the gallery schedule.
