ARTS COUNCIL OF MOORE COUNTY
-
Back by popular demand, the Arts Council of Moore County
will once again present Art Anonymous, the FUNdraising event
that has a secret people are still talking about. In order for this event to be successful, we need your help!

HOW IT WORKS______________________________________________________
The Arts Council of Moore County (ACMC) is calling all artists (ages 16+) to create and donate a secret mini-masterpiece which will be for sale to art lovers. The identity of the artist will be revealed once their artwork is sold. Proceeds from the sale will benefit ACMC's programs and services.

HOW YOU CAN HELP_________________________________________________
You can help by doing what you do best…create art. ACMC will provide you with 5"x7" postcards—as many as you need—on which you can create or attach your original art. These anonymous works of art, made by you and other renowned artists, will be on display and sold for $50 a piece at our exhibit in June, 2010. All artists' identities will remain concealed until the work is sold. Just say the word and we'll send you your postcards. You may work in any 2-D media but DO NOT sign the front of your work, as there is space on the back of each card for your signature. Then simply return your work to us by May 3, 2010 (or earlier). Pssst…keep it a secret!

NEW THIS YEAR________________________________________________
In keeping with ACMC's mission to promote original art and to offer incentive to donate your best work, we have asked North Carolina artist William Mangum to choose his favorite 20-25 Art Anonymous artists based solely on your donations. The chosen artists will be invited to exhibit in a special feature show at Campbell House Galleries in June, 2011. So, give us your best mini-masterpiece!

Photo of William MangumAs one of North Carolina's most respected and collected artists, William Mangum creates colorful landscape and architectural paintings featuring beautiful hideaways from around the world. Aside from his commercial success, he has exhibited at the National Arts Club in New York and the New Realists show in Chicago. Bill earned his arts degrees from Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. For more information on Bill, visit www.williammangum.com.

In addition, the following frame shops in Moore County have agreed to offer 20% off framing for any Art Anonymous artwork purchased during the event: Framer's Cottage (162 NW Broad St., Southern Pines, NC - 910-246-2002), Framesmith (170 N. Bennett St., Southern Pines, NC - 910-692-4879), The King's Custom Framing (Pinehurst Hardware Bldg., Ste. 3, Pinehurst, NC - 910-295-5451), and A Southern Studio (275A NE Broad St., Southern Pines, NC - 910-692-7400).

HOW TO PARTICIPATE________________________________________________
To receive your Art Anonymous art packet, containing postcard(s) and guidelines for creating and donating your mini masterpiece, contact ACMC at 910-692-ARTS (2787) or you can pick it up at ACMC's offices (Campbell House, 482 E. Connecticut Ave., Southern Pines). Participating artists will be listed on our website and in promotional and marketing materials for Art Anonymous. The artwork will be posted on our website—anonymously, of course. All participating artists will receive an invitation to the Art Anonymous opening reception at Campbell House on Friday, June 4, 2010. And because we value your talent as an artist, we will be happy to provide a tax receipt for your donation.
